We hope you have had a wonderful Thanksgiving break!
Do you have an elf that visits your classroom during the holidays? If so, your students will love completing this elf diary! Each day your students will write where the elf is in your classroom and what he did (if your elf plays tricks.) Your students will also make a prediction about what the elf will do on the next day. Also included is a elf-themed writing contract with 5 activities. In this packet, you will receive:
* Elf diary cover page
* Reproducible elf diary page (two days on one page)
* Elf-themed writing contract with 5 writing activities and an easy to score rubric
* Additional writing contract reproducibles for each of the 5 activities (total of 3 pages)
You may decide how many days your students will keep their elf diary. Students can complete their writing contracts independently while you conduct small groups and/or writing conferences. You may also conduct small groups to complete the writing contract activities. You can assign a different number of tasks to students based on their individual needs. Your fast finishers may complete all writing contract activities while another student may only finish 2 or 3 tasks. Check out this newly listed product: Elf Diary & Writing Contract

It's hard to believe it's almost Thanksgiving! We have created a few new products for the holidays. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! Enjoy a restful break!
This activity is very similar to our best seller "The Great Pumpkin Exchange". Your students will decorate a gingerbread man and then write a set of directions so that a classmate can recreate their design. After the exchange, your students will complete a peer evaluation survey and offer suggestions for improvements.
Leah at Learning 4 Keeps is hosting a giveaway to 4 lucky winners. We are participating in Giveaway #1 by donating our product, The Gingerbread Bake-Off. Please visit Leah's blog to enter to win!
